Oklahoma Career Tech Awards Foundation Scholarship to Local Students

The Oklahoma CareerTech Foundation has awarded $500 Otha Grimes Scholarships to Mika McCrackin and Carol Sue Green, both of Cushing, McCrackin and Green are Surgical Technology students at Central Technology Center in Drumright. Similar scholarships were also awarded to Angela Crawford, Sapulpa , and Stephanie Davis of Drumright, both Practical Nursing students at the Center.

The financial assistance gifts to students enrolled in CareerTech programs in Oklahoma are designed to help students with tuition, books, uniforms, childcare and other expenses related to their student status. The Otha Grimes Scholarships are given to encourage adult students to continue in their training for a career of their choice. Otha Grimes was actively involved in agriculture and oil and gas production in Oklahoma and served as a member of the board of directors of the Oklahoma CareerTech Foundation.

The Oklahoma CareerTech Foundation was formed in 1970 to assist adult students who may not qualify for other scholarships or student assistance programs.
