Central Tech Honored As Gold Star School
14th Consecutive Time


Central Technology Center has been honored as a Gold Star School for the 14th consecutive year by the Oklahoma Association for Technology Centers. Central Tech is the only school in the state to ever be so recognized every year since the award's inception in 1991.

The Gold Star Award program is designed to recognize Technology Centers that have met rigid and demanding criteria demonstrating a higher level of excellence.

Central Tech consistently maintains a placement rate of 97% or better for program completers while serving over 13,000 clients annually. Five colleges and universities now partner with Central Tech to award college credit for instruction at campuses in Drumright and Sapulpa . To date, over 25,000 college credit hours have been earned by students on the Central Tech campuses.

The economic impact of Central Technology Center graduates on the economy of the area served now totals over $40 million in salaries and benefits annually.

Central Tech was Oklahoma 's first technology center to serve as a host site for a regional Center for the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, and, was also honored to be the first technology center to have a nationally recognized exemplary Telecommunications program.

Upon accepting the honor for Central Tech, Superintendent Phil Waul said: "Our faculty and staff are very honored, once again, to be named an Oklahoma Gold Star School ."
