Maxey's Motorsports in Oklahoma City was named 2004 Partner for Progress by Central Technology Center , Drumright, and the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers at the 37 th Annual CareerTech Summer Conference in Tulsa .
Ray Jones, service manager, and Mike Wierzbicki, technician, has represented Maxey's on the industry advisory committee for Motorcycle Mechanics/Small Engine Technology Program at Central Tech for seven years.
Jones has utilized the Central Tech program for Polaris training for his technicians and was instrumental in assisting the technology center in becoming a regional training center for Polaris Industries last year. The Polaris partnership has resulted in increased career opportunities for Central Tech students as well as thousands of dollars in valuable equipment donations to the CareerTech program.
Wierzbicki, a Central Tech graduate, was instrumental in helping develop and implement a Motorcycle Safety Training program at Central Tech that gives students an opportunity for safety certification prior to applying for a job.
