Central Tech Cyber Security Graduates to Get National Security Agency Certifications

Students successfully completing Clint Webb 's Cyber Security Program will now receive three prestigious national security certifications as they prepare to enter one of the top three fields for employment in Oklahoma .

National Security Agency Government Entity Certifications Technician's Certificates 4011-4012-4013, all dealing with information security, will automatically be awarded each successful graduate of Webb's program.

Because the NSA-issued certifications are government-based and meet governmental standards for proficiency, the graduates of the Central Tech program will be qualified for consideration of employment in government high-security areas as well as in private enterprise fields. Hospitals, banks, law enforcement agencies and scores of other businesses dealing with sensitive personal and business information are key areas of employment for the technology center graduates.

Central Tech and Francis Tuttle Technology Center in Oklahoma City are the only two schools in the nation that have been approved to receive this certification for their Cyber Security graduates, according to Webb. Each has mapped their classroom curriculum to the government's NSA standards.

Earlier this year, Central Tech's Cyber Security program became a co-recipient of a $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation to help develop a national model and regional center for instruction in cyber security and cyber forensics education.

Central Tech's program is a partner in the Okla. Center for Information Assurance and Forensics Education Consortium that received the NSF grant. Webb and other instructors in the consortium will serve as teacher-mentors for instructors at similar programs being developed in neighboring states in the southwestern United States.
