CareerTech students in the Health Careers Certifications programs at Central Technology Center, Drumright, made Christmas special for hundreds of children in Head Start programs in Cleveland, Cushing and Drumright as well as youngsters hospitalized in Tulsa .
Over 250 stuffed animals were given to children in the area Head Start programs as the students, high school and adult classes alike, visited one-on-one with youngsters in Cleveland, Cushing, Drumright, handing out bears, bunnies, beanie babies, and other cuddly creatures along with non-perishable foods donated by the Central Tech students and members of Yale American Legion Auxiliary Post 161.
The Central Tech healthcare students also visited Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa , handing out teddy bears to about 200 patients in the mental health, pediatrics and burn units. On December 16 th , the classes visited Linwood Nursing Home in Cushing and sang Christmas carols, giving residents stuffed animals, and assisted the nursing home's staff in caring for residents of the center. |
