CareerTech Students Adopt
Drumright Head Start Program

Cosmetology students at Central Technology Center have adopted the children in the Drumright Head Start program, visiting the Head Start program on various holidays throughout the school term. The tech student's most recent visit was just prior to Christmas and each of the Cosmetology students brought a child in the Head Start program a personalized stocking and a holiday craft for the tech students and HS children to work on together.

Each Central Tech Cosmetology student is a member of the Skills USA/VICA professional organization that encourages members to become active in community service projects. During the December visit, the tech students sang songs and did handicrafts with the children. Cosmetology instructor Monica Frick says her class will be returning soon to the Head Start program with something special around Easter.
