Central Tech Law Reserve Class Graduates 16 New Area Officers
Sixteen area residents were certified as reserve officers in eleven local area law enforcement agencies in ceremonies March 11 th at Central Technology Center where each successfully completed the six months, 164 hours, Law Reserve Program.
Guest speaker for the evening's graduation ceremonies was State Representative Dale Wells, D-Cushing. The state law maker commended the reserve law officers for their contribution to the communities they serve. The Reserve Officers volunteer their time to protect and serve their communities.
From crowd control to patrol, Law Reserve Officers expand the resources available to their local Police Departments. Each of the men and women of the Reserve Division are employed outside of their local Police Departments in all areas of the public and government sectors.
Judith Niles, Adult Training Coordinator for Central Tech, noted that: "The time spent "On Duty" with the police department is above and beyond their normal workday. It is with a spirit of true citizenship and love of community that they join their local Police Departments in an effort to make their communities a better place to live."
