Central Tech Welding Students
Gain State Certification
Central Tech Welding Fabrication instructor John Thorpe's pride is showing as he tells about the eleven young men in his program that have attained state certification as welders before classes have officially ended for the semester.
The young men's achievement in such a short period of time is even more remarkable and a testament to Thorpe's abilities as an instructor when you consider that the veteran welder himself was off work six weeks this term due to back surgery. "These young men didn't miss a step. They are bright, well disciplined and talented students that applied themselves diligently all year. I am extremely proud of them," said Thorpe.
The eleven who passed their state certification test this month are: Matt Marker, Kellyville;
Daniel Wendling, Yale; Aaron Seward, Stroud; Johnny Johnson, Davenport; Bradley Harmon, Cleveland; Chase Capehart, Sapulpa; Bobby Ritter, Stroud; Chad Marlow, Davenport; Calvin O'Neal, Bristow; Brandon Presnell, Sapulpa; and, Wes Mizer, Sapulpa.
