Central Tech’s David Teegarden Named
OK-APSE Training Specialist of the Year

David Teegarden, a supported employment staff member at Central Technology Center in Sapulpa , has been named Employment Training Specialist of the Year by the Oklahoma Association for Persons in Supported Employment (OK-APSE) during awards ceremonies recently in Tulsa at the Tulsa Southern Hills Marriott. James Nicholson, Division Administrator of the Developmental Disabilities Services Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, presented the OK-APSE award to Teegarden in recognition of thirteen years as a training specialist with Central Tech as well as three years service on the OK-APSE Executive Committee.

“David has worked as an Oil and Gas Land Manager, in sales and marketing, in various areas of management and is a business owner in the Sapulpa area. This exceptional background gives him immense insight into the needs of our supported employment businesses. He knows how to make a business profitable thereby gaining the confidence of the employers participating in supported employment,” said Central Tech's Supported Employment Program Coordinator Kim Howard.

“David's optimistic ‘can do' attitude is infectious. It feels good to be around him. He makes the employers, consumers and his associates believe that the job, whatever it is, is really doable. David is always willing to go the extra mile. He has been known to repair a client's vehicle on the side of the road to ensure that they got to work on time. David is always ready and willing to help whenever he is needed. Many lives have been made better by his efforts,” said Howard.
