Central Technology Center , with campuses in Drumright and Sapulpa , was named a Gold Star School for the 15th consecutive year during ceremonies at the annual CareerTech Summer Conference in Tulsa August 2-4th .
“Central Tech's Board, faculty and staff, take great pride that this Technology Center has been a recipient of the Gold Star School Award every year since the award was first presented in 1991”, said superintendent Phil Waul.
The Gold Star School Award is given annually by the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers to schools meeting rigid standards in academics, professional development for staff members, community service and other areas.
The OATC noted: “With 95% or more, each year, of Central Tech's completing students being placed in related occupations or continuing education, Central Tech's commitment to Gold Star standards is evident. Personal and professional development for every student is encouraged as 98% of Central Tech's full-time secondary students hold membership in appropriate technology student professional organizations.”
“Central Tech's commitment to Gold Star standards for encouraging continuing education is also evident. Cooperative agreements with six colleges and universities are in force for 90% of the full-time career training programs at Central Tech campuses. Over twenty-four hundred college credit hours are earned annually by Central Tech students.” |
