CUSHING HOSPITAL NAMED CAREERTECH “PARTNER FOR PROGRESS”

Cushing Regional Hospital was recognized as an outstanding industry “Partner for Progress” by the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers and Central Tech during ceremonies at the 2005 State CareerTech Summer Conference in Tulsa August 2nd .

The Cushing hospital has been a partner with Central Tech in training healthcare workers since 1969. Several CRH staff members serve or have served on advisory committees for Practical Nursing, Health Careers Certifications, EMT and Surgical Technology programs.

Ron Cackler, CEO of the hospital, has allowed every department in the facility to be utilized for clinical training by Central Tech students. Currently, the CareerTech students receive on-the-job training or take advantage of internships in the medical lab, radiology, surgery, emergency room, medical records, physical therapy, and obstetrics departments as well as all of the patient-care units.

Abbie Kindell, administrative director of nursing; Pat Goad, education coordinator; and Dr. Tom Dotson, emergency room physician, work continuously with the Central Tech instructors to provide relevant clinical experiences for the students. “Central Tech extremely grateful for the support of Cushing Regional Hospital and for the support the personnel provide for our students. They are outstanding business partners and the hospital is a shining example of what a business partner should be,” said assistant superintendent Judy Robinson.
