Freshmen legislators, Brian Bingman, R-Sapulpa; Rex Duncan, R-Sand Springs; and Lee Denney, R-Cushing, got an opportunity to see Oklahoma 's CareerTech system working and visit one-on-one with students during their Friday morning tour of Central Technology Center , Jan. 14 th , in Drumright.
While Denney, representing House Dist. 33, is a recent employee of Central Tech, formerly teaching Physics and Biology, and was already familiar with the local technology center's services for high school students, adults and business-industry, her counterparts now representing House districts 30 (Bingman) and 35 (Duncan) were getting their first intimate look at many of the school's workings.
Superintendent Phil Waul gave each of the trio an opportunity to visit with instructors in many of the school's training programs and visit informally with many of the students in the classrooms. Duncan now represents much of the northernmost part of the Central Tech district while Bingman represents the Sapulpa area to the east and Denney the western areas of the school's service region. |
