Forty-five high school students from thirteen communities were honored May 11th in ceremonies and a reception at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Regional Center in Drumright. Twenty were finishing a year of studies at the center, located on the Central Technology Center campus in Drumright, and twenty-five were given orientation prior to classes that will begin in August.
Central Tech Superintendent Phil Waul and OSSM Outreach Coordinator Dr. Jack Herron addressed the students and family members, commending the student body for making the decision to undertake the rigors of college-level studies while in high school and urging each to accept the discipline required to master their new studies in math and science.
Waul spoke of many graduates of the OSSM Regional Center who have attended many of the nation's best colleges and universities and the scholarships that are offered each year to the Regional Center seniors.
