Amanda McLemore and her sister Sarah, Olive, have been named recipients of student assistance Tarr-Shaw Scholarships through the Central Tech Foundation.
Trustees of the Abby Tarr-Glen C. Shaw Foundation have made financial donations to the Central Tech Foundation since 1981 to help meet the education needs of students. Over twenty-three thousand dollars in scholarships have been awarded to Central Tech students in the past ten years.
Each year's recipients are chosen by a scholarship committee consisting of the president of the CT Foundation, CT superintendent, president of the Board of Education, one member of the Tarr-Shaw Foundation, and the resident District Judge sitting in Drumright.
This year's recipients, Amanda and Sarah McLemore, are students in Health Careers Certification at Central Tech in Drumright.
“Countless students have been given the opportunity to continue their education and learn a marketable skill as the result of being assisted financially by Tarr-Shaw scholarships,” said superintendent Phil Waul. |
