Growing Grapes for Profit Seminar Set

Central Tech Technology Center of Drumright and Redlands Community College of El Reno, through a cooperative educational agreement, will be sponsoring a one day seminar for local area residents who might be interested in growing grapes for profit.

The Introduction to Growing Grapes in Oklahoma seminar in Drumright will be held October 29 at Central Tech in Drumright. The session will cover a broad range of topics focusing on the needs of people thinking about starting a vineyard, as well as people new to the grape growing industry.

This seminar will be the beginning of an ongoing training program Central Tech plans to offer the public in support of the Oklahoma grape and wine industry.

The meeting will be held in the Seminar Center at Central Tech, Drumright, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is open to the general public at no charge. Seminar topics that will be covered with presentations from experienced speakers include:

•  Economics of Growing Grapes
•  Marketing
•  Variety Selection
•  Site Selection & Orientation
•  Site Preparation
•  Irrigation
•  Pest Control
