Superintendent Phil Waul announced today that Central Technology Center was granted continuing accreditation for the five more years from the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI).
The accreditation applies to both Central Tech campuses in Drumright and Sapulpa . Waul notes that Drumright has been NCA accredited since its opening in 1970 and the Sapulpa campus has been so accredited since its opening in 1978.
To earn accreditation, schools must meet NCA CASI's high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous school improvement plan focused on increasing student performance. The accreditation process is voluntary and entails annual review by NCA CASI.
NCA CASI postsecondary school accreditation is recognized by the United States Department of Education. This recognition allows students to access federal funds to support their postsecondary learning. NCA CASI accreditation is also recognized across state lines, which greatly eases the transfer process as students move from one accredited institution of higher learning to another.
“NCA accreditation is an external mark of quality,” stated supt. Waul. “It demonstrates to our students, parents, businesses, and community that we are focused on providing the highest quality learning environment for our students.”
