Women in Business Seminar:
ID Theft & Mail Fraud

Business and professional women in the area are invited to participate in a series of monthly luncheons and seminars dealing with issues affecting them and their employees. The first of the seminars is set for Noon Thursday, October 27th at the Business Assistance Center in Drumright.

Central Tech industrial coordinator Peggy Swineheart is coordinating the series and urging businesswomen of all ranks to take a break for lunch and join their peers for a session with security expert Morris Holmes. Holmes will be discussing mail security and fraud, identity theft and mail security at the Oct. 27th seminar.

Holmes says identity theft is now epidemic in America and will educate participants on how they can protect themselves, as well as how to deal with mail security and mail fraud. “We will show people how to take effective steps toward protecting themselves from contaminated mail that has the potential to infect, maim or even kill. It is important to be able to identify suspicious mail items and how to effectively respond to protect employees as well as the business itself,” says Swineheart.

Registration for the seminar is $7.50 and that includes lunch. Those interested are urged to make advance registrations by calling Stacy (918) 352-4517 . While most of the seminars will be conducted on the last Thursday of each month, the November Women in Business Seminar will be held Nov. 17th, a week earlier than normal due to the Thanksgiving holidays and December's meeting will moved to the 15th because of the Christmas holidays.
