Ripley Mom Finally Gets the
Career She Always Wanted!

Susan Gray, Ripley, had to wait two decades for the career she dreamed of in high school, but now has found success and fulfillment as a Physical Therapy Technician at Total Rehab Center in Stillwater . Total Rehab is a comprehensive physical therapy and fitness center operated by the Stillwater Medical Center . Susan credits circumstances and the training she received at Central Technology Center , Drumright, for her newfound success as a healthcare professional.

Going back to school after twenty years was: “A great awakening and really scary at first. All of the other students in the class were younger than me. I was a housewife and mother with a 3 year old at home and I now had homework again,” said Gray.

“This is what I originally wanted to do with my life when I graduated from high school,” says Gray. Today, she has the career she wanted along with the praise of her supervisor and fellow employees. In fact, they are encouraging Susan to go back to the classroom again and become a licensed physical therapist.

As a physical therapy technician, Gray prepares the treatment rooms and the clients for their session with the therapists. Susan is often the first person a patient or client at the rehab center meets. Faith Ley, Total Rehab Clinical Rehabilitation Services Supervisor, says of Gray : “Our clients could not be in better hands. Susan always greets people with a smile. Even on a bad day, and we all have a bad day now and then, she never shows it to the clients. She is a great ambassador for our firm, making our clients comfortable from the moment they walk through the doors. That is something we look for in everyone we hire.”

Ley also praises the training Gray received from her instructor Rhonda Kannady and the staff at Central Tech. “A lot of the people we hire require that we do some additional training to get them prepared to do their job. We didn't have to train Susan, she came from Central Tech with all of the skills and attitude that were perfect for the work she does here. She knew all of the technical information and had the technical skills that she needs, and that saved us a lot of time and expense. I just wish Central Tech could send me another Susan Gray…now!” says Ley.
