Central Tech Drivers Win
in Bus Drivers' Road-E-O

Four Central Technology Center bus drivers won First Place and Second Place honors in the annual School Bus Road-E-O competition sponsored by the Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation (OAPT). Central Tech hosted this year's event on the Drumright center's spacious driving range.

Central Tech bus drivers participating in the Road-E-O included Piper Begley, Oilton; Kim Rusco, Olive; Judy Baker, Drumright; and Cindy Edwards, Drumright.

Begley, who drives the Yale-Oilton route for Central Tech, won First Place in driving skills in a conventional style bus and is eligible to compete in July in the National School Bus Driver's Road-E-O in Reno, Nevada .

Kim Rusco, who drives the Olive-Drumright Central Tech route, won Second Place in conventional bus skills. The four drivers won Second Place as a team in team competition with drivers utilizing both conventional and transit-style vehicles.

Edwards drives the Central Tech Cushing-Ripley route and Baker is driver for the Bristow route each day.

The Road-E-O is a three-part examination of the school bus driver's knowledge and driving skills with schools from across the state competing. Local area public school's with drivers participating in this year's Road-E-O included Sapulpa, Cushing, Jenks, Tulsa, Glenpool, Stillwater, Moore, Putnam City, and Central Tech.
