Drumright HOSA Students
Win Top State Honors at OKC

Three high school students in Central Technology Center 's Health Career Certifications program at Drumright have won First Place honors in the annual statewide HOSA Spring Conference, April 12-14 in Oklahoma City. Each is now eligible to participate and compete in the National HOSA Leadership Conference at Anaheim, California, in June.

Jessica Mobley, Cleveland, won 1st place in Personal Care at the Oklahoma meeting. Robert Collier, Cushing, won 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking while Cody Judd, Drumright, won 1st place in Medical Assisting/Clinical.

Ashton Cockriel, Ripley, and Tiffany Lechtenburg, Drumright, won 2nd place as a team in Career Health Display competition. Jackie Maxwell, Olive, won 3rd place in Medical Assisting/Clinical, and Trista Schuler, Mannford, won 4th place in Researched Persuasive Speaking.

Other honors for Central Tech high school students included: HOSA Member National Recognition to Megan McGee, Stroud, and Outstanding HOSA Chapter Award to Megan McGee and Alicia Finn, Stroud.

Schuler, Robbie Harris of Yale, Cockriel, Rebecca Griffin of Stroud, and Ludie Smallwood of Bristow, were Kaiser Health Care Issues Exam winners.

Cynthia Smith, Oilton, and Chauncie Hodge, Cushing, won Fourth Place in Adult CPR/First Aid skills competition, while classmates Renita Stotler, Bristow; Amber Tusler, Cushing; Jenna Green, Jennings; and Nicki Dugan, Hominy, won Third Place as a team in Adult Bio Medical Debate.

Instructors for the Health Career Certifications program are Kathy Caruthers, Tammy Silkwood, and Lori Todd. Rhonda Kannady is instructor for the Adult Health Career Certifications program at Drumright.
