Central Tech Students Inducted
into National Tech Honor Society

Seventy-six students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society in ceremonies Tuesday evening (Apr. 18) in the Seminar Center at Central Technology Center in Drumright. Sixty-two were inducted for the first time while fourteen were admitted for their second consecutive year.

The purpose of the National Technical Honor Society is to promote service, leadership, honesty, community involvement, career development and skilled workmanship among CareerTech students of all ages. The organization, and its local chapters, also endeavors to reward student achievement and promote a stronger linkage between local career technology institutions and business and industry.

In Tuesday evening's ceremonies, guest speaker Rep. Lee Denney, R-Cushing, spoke to the honor students about leadership and told the honor students: “Anyone can become a leader. Listen to the people around you and be responsive to the needs of others. Individuals can make a difference and bring about change to better life for all concerned.”

“We lead best when we forget ourselves and help others,” said Denney.
