Central Tech's Drumright Business Computer Technology classes had more high school students receive special recognition awards for outstanding leadership, community service and patriotism than any other school in the state at recent state leadership conferences in Tulsa and Okmulgee.
Program instructor Athena Frank reports that fifteen of her sixteen students that competed in the statewide meet placed in the top five and seven students in her program received Statesman Torch Award Resumes at the Spring Business Professionals of America (BPA) Conference for their outstanding Leadership, Patriotism, Community Service and Knowledge. The seven are Kim Apgar, Sapulpa; Brandi Burk, Oilton; Sarah Butler, Yale; Amanda Hildebrand, Cushing; Hilary McIntire, Ripley; Alyson Pierce, Cushing; and Heidi Runt, Bristow.
Hildebrand (right) will serve as the 2006-07 State BPA Parliamentarian. She and Dakota Hensley, Cleveland, will be attending and competing at the National BPA Conference in Orlando, Florida, May 10-13.
