18 Central Tech Students Earn Right
to Compete in State Skills Meet

Eighteen students in Career Tech skills training programs at Central Tech in Drumright have earned the right to compete in upcoming state USA Skills competition May 2-4th in Tulsa . Each won either first, second, or third place in recent regional skills contests.

Those who will soon be competing at the state level include:

Lane Hammock, Mannford, won 1st place in Architectural Drafting; April Bacerra, Mannford, won 1st place in Technical Drafting; Justin Porter, adult student from Claremore, won 2nd place in Technical Drafting; and Jeremy Presley, adult student from Sapulpa , won 3rd place in Technical Drafting.

Mike Goodin, Mannford, 2nd place in Carpentry; Leo Hunziker, Cushing, 1st place in Cabinet Making; and Allen McKendry, adult from Depew, 2nd place in Cabinet Making.

Sabrina Peterson, Bristow adult student, won 1st place in Hair Styling and Ashley Taylor, Cleveland , won 2nd place in Facials in Cosmetology competition. Lindsey Rickner, Yale, won 2nd place in Advertising Design.

Service Careers program winners included: Jonathan Miller, Ripley, 1st place in Small Engine Parts ID; Regina Dostal, Bristow adult, 1st place in Tool ID; Joshua Bear, Drumright, 1st place in Low Speed Buffing; Kristina Koehn, Hominy, 1st place in Carpet Maintenance; and James Tallent III, Bristow adult, 1st place in Carpet Maintenance.

Jake Haworth, Bristow, won 1st place in Welding; Landon Carr, Cushing, won 2nd place in Welding; and Hannah Wadsworth, Mounds, won 3rd place in Welding.

Other Central Tech students winning honors in the regional meets, include:

Chris Miller, Sapulpa adult, 4th place in Auto Services; Dustin Richison, Bristow adult, 5th place, Auto Services; Cameron Cook, Cushing adult, 6th place, Auto Services; Nate Ruth, Kiefer, 9th place in Architectural Drafting; Charles Paxton, Ripley, 7th in Carpentry; William Long, Sapulpa, 9th in Carpentry; Pat Jackson, Drumright adult, 4th in Carpentry; and Jordan Mattingly, Sapulpa, 4th in Cabinet Making.

Chip Hoosier, Olive, 5th in Graphic Design; Amanda Nixon, Bristow, 6th in Graphic Design; Shannon Elking, Olive, 9th in Offset Printing; Richard Starns, Bristow, 12th in Printing; and Clayton Webb, Drumright adult, 5th in Precision Machining.
